So when I got grounded from going to West Virginia I had this plan to fake throwing up and skip Thanksgiving dinner while curling into the fetal position and eating saltines all night. Something that would give me a win later on when I told my mother about it to make her feel guilty about how much she's pissed me off before. However, plans changed when my dear Aunt Laura swooped in last night and took me shopping. Our first stop was at H&M where she bought me this sleek purple dress with lightly frilled goddess-y type sleeves, a dipping V-neck, and and a sash around the waist, along with a black angora cardigan, to wear tonight. Next stop was Express where she got me a much needed pair of black leggings that actually extend down the ankle and are thick enough to keep me warm in my skirts this winter. (Yay!)
We went around the mall to Forever 21, she stopped into Wet Seal for a minute, and I got a pair of earrings at Clair's because towards the end we were running a little late and had no time to run down to Icing, but they were still cute. We went out the wrong entrance and past this hot guy at Sunglass Hut twice because we were running super uber late and accidentally ran through the cold all the way around the building (which was funny) until we found the correct exit. Oops.
Then we sped over to a nail salon for Laura to get a little facial waxing done and she surprised me yet again with a manicure (Yay!) which was very sweet. While we were in Dierberg's getting sweet potatoes for tomorrow I thanked her again for the outfit and nails, apologizing that all I had in return was cooking advice. She just laughed it off and said 'It was much needed' referring to the fact that she can't cook to save her life. (Seriously, she called my mom from Alabama one time asking how to make rice) This was a shocker that out of all her gal-pals she picked me to go shopping with as well. She and I have never been super close. We used to share a room back in Denver, but now we don't talk a ton. She's frivolously irresponsible, I'm dangerously irresponsible; she's casual/preppy, I'm a gothy bohemian; we can't talk about art or books or music, but she understands that I like to party and gets why I can't stand my mom.
So now I feel to guilty about the cute stuff to skip dinner intentionally. Laura doesn't have a lot of money because she hasn't got a set career yet. However, my parents are scrapping it out to much to take me over to my grandparents, so I might just end up sitting at home with my saltines.
